Over the past week, I have only received a very few work units and that was just on one night. The rest of the time my Mac and two Windows 10 computers which I run 24/7 solely for the project, just sit idle. I've looked at the message boards and can't find anything about such an outage. I have also downloaded BOINC over and over again but still no work units. Could someone please tell me what to do to get these computers up and working again.

Thanks,
Louis Beatty

Nothing can be done by you.
There is presently no Rosetta 4.20 work available from the project, apart form the very occasional resend or batch of RB Tasks. New Rosetta 4.20 work should be loaded up at some point in the future.

There are plenty of Python Tasks available, but they require the installation of VirtualBox in order to be processed, and have very high RAM requirements (3GB min per Task, although they actually use much less), and there seem to be some issues in certain cases where Tasks start, but aren't actually being processed, so they require fairly close user monitoring as they need to be manually aborted or you can end up with a group of Tasks that never finish & no new ones can start.

My mom died of Alzheimers and since Rosetta does research in that area, that's why I run that project.

Is there any indication of how long it will be until Rosetta work units will become widely available?

Thanks,
Louis

Nope.
Most likely later in the week after new years, but then it could be a week or two after that.
There's no way of knowing (unless the Project were to actually advise us).

Thanks for following up with me. One more question...does another project do any work in the area of Alzheimers?
