Can anyone explain why my average credit, which was going steadly upward since I recently joined, is dropping. It had gone to a high of 197.6 on Oct.14,06, and since that time has dropped to 169.8 as of Nov, 2,06. I do not recall changing any preference settings, all units show being completed and the granted credit is within +/- 10 of the claimed credit. Is anyone else having this situtation?

Generally ignore the cliamed credit since there is a different credit claiming system used here at Rosetta@home, I think how it is calculated is in the technical nes, but it's certainly in the Number Crunching section of the main message board.

RAC is also an averaging system , so it's probably just settling out and not something you shoudl really worry about.

Thank you for your reply. I am running on 2 computers. The second one is on a wireless connection that seems to drop out after some time of non use. Could this be the problem? Is there a setting where my wireless computer will only try and send/recieve units when it is connect online?

It could be a problem since it will back off the retries and you may run out of tasks (wu) to crunch. boinc does it's best to check if it is offline, but that then only really works when a computer is using a dial-up connection directly. Else it has to use the rollback and check a website method.

Best bet is to go into you preferences, go into that computers details and set it to another Venue such as School. Then go to the Rosetta@Home preferences and create the school venue and set the connect to the network to say a day or so. This will cause you to store more tasks in case it cannot connect when needed. Also you could up the Taget Run Time to 8hrs + this just reduces the amount of data you need to download. but the work in the end is the same.
