This past Sunday, the son of one of our members posted the following on our message boards...

To whomever this may concern,

jjemme passed away on Friday, September 7th due to a sudden heart attack. He was taking his daily walk around the neighborhood when he collapsed.

SETI was one of his many prides and passions in life. During his last few years he really enjoyed coming onto the message boards and speaking his mind. He looked forward everyday to welcoming the new members and checking in on the progress of the latest race. He would call me and tell me about the interesting posts on the forums and make sure I was running SETI on my computer.

His presence will be missed...

jjemme was an invaluable asset to SETI.USA...not for his RAC or the number of cycles he donated...he was valued for his contribution to our community. He helped to make our team feel more like a family. He brought with him a love of life and science. He brought an intelligent perspective and the ability to make us all think a little deeper.

He has left an indelible mark upon our lives.

Sad. Respect. I know there is nothing I can say to make things better.
