I am leaving the Rosetta@home project. Reason: censorship of post. I contribute to the project, I expect freedom of speech. Adios. |

600 points in nearly one year. Only one other post in nearly one year, quasi-commercial (something now being available for download?). Sorry you feel Rosie doesn't meet your project needs. Buh-bye !!! |

600 points in nearly one year. The Internet Archive item "Endgame: Blueprint for Global Enslavement" is open source, not "quasi-commercial." Get your facts straight before shooting off your mouth. |

Gentlemen, please, there is no need for bad feelings here. If Simon wishes to go then that is his decision. Obviously we are sorry to hear that. |

As far as I can tell he's posted the same advertisment* on every project he's a member of. If it had included some critical comment and no image, then I don't think anybody would have complained. * An advertisment is still an advertisment even if the thing isn't commercial in itself. I'm not sure, but it's possible the image may violate photobucket's terms and conditions. Is it a 'promotional material'? http://photobucket.com/terms Section 5, restrictions, paragraph d, "Post, upload, email or otherwise transmit, without first obtaining the permission of Photobucket, any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional materials, junk mail, spam, chain letters, "pyramid schemes," Ponzi schemes or any other form of solicitation;" |

technically, any image posted here without the photographers or websites permission is a violation of their property rights, which is more of a offense than advertising.

technically, any image posted here without the photographers or websites permission is a violation of their property rights It's not a technicality, it's the law. But my signature keeps me safe ;) A message from my penguin |

interesting, but what is RAH rules? Are you asking if the project intends to review every img tag in every post and compare it's use with the appropriate use standards of the website from which it was referenced? Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |

interesting, but what is RAH rules? I don't think Rosetta or any project should have to do anything of the sort. The displaying of an image from an original site by using a link is not breaking copyright laws since no image has been copied or amended. But I agree it's not good netiquette to link to anyone's website without asking their permission first. A message from my penguin |
