I'm preparing to choose a college, and I decided that I want to go into medical research. I've always had a passion for wanting to help people, especially those with terminal illnesses, like AIDS, or people in unfortunate situations, like those who've suffered brain injuries. I don't want to work one-on-one with these people, but rather try to find cures or at least treatments to improve their lives. My questions for people who have a career as medical researcher/scientists are: 1. What's your job like? 2. How do you like your job? 3. Are there any schools or specific programs I should be looking into? 4. What should I major in? 5. Do I have to go to medical school? 6. Is your salary reasonable? 7. Any other advice/tips you can offer are appreciated. Thanks a lot. =) |

Hello college bound, Thanks for joining Rosetta@home. Since I don't know the Rosetta forum is the right place to look for information on a career as medical researcher/scientist, I googled for Medical Researcher and came up with these links: http://www.ahfmr.ab.ca/communications/researcher.php http://careerpath.org/reports/bestcareers/20060725-needleman.html Good luck with your career, Path7. |
