Hi guys, I've ben running a twitter feed for R@H. Here's the original thread from where I started the feed. https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=4850 and here is the account http://twitter.com/Rosetta_at_Home Obviously, it hasn't led to a boost in users by the millions, but I'm hoping that at least some of you are less convinced that twitter is just a passing fad by now. It is a good way for getting exposure, some other boinc projects have followers in the thousands (and some posts reach thousands more through re-tweeting) so if done right it can definately be worth the effort. I don't frequent the forum much any more, only check on it intermittently, so I'm hoping other people will help me keep the feed up to date, more than just re-posting the baker journal posts. If it's a colaborative effort, it wont take much work at all. pm me if you're interested, and i'll give you the password. |

Hello, I am a total newb to BOINC and the projects, but this is one of the ones I chose as it seemed very worthwhile and I have little to offer in the way of my computer(other than dual processors), but wanted to put a bit of it to good use and I like this. Of course it started with an interest in SETI and when I found all these other projects too, well I'm glad I am here and if I should have introduced myself someplace else, and I look like a total goof right now, what else is new? Please forgive me. I tend to be impulsive. lol! Anyway, thrilled to be here and I hope soon to be a pro at this stuff and be the one to save the world and the universe(s?). If anyone has any advice as far as how I really ought to act around here, please let me know:-) Advice on other good projects that really need help would be useful too. Thanks so much! Regards to all, Choctaw Lass Lincoln National Forest, Lincoln County, New Mexico, USA, Planet Earth, Milky Way! (Yum!) Home of: "The Roswell Incident" (Roswell, NM, July 1947) "The Manhattan Project" (Los Alamos, NM, 1942 into July 1945) "Ground Zero-The Trinity Site" (White Sands Missile Range, property of Holloman Air Force Base, just outside of Alamogordo, NM.) "The Lincoln County Wars" (William "Billy the Kid" Bonney, John Tunstall, Pat Garrett, Alexander McSween, etc.) "Smoky 'the' Bear" (Found during a forest fire in the Capitan and Sacremento Mountains here in Lincoln County. He was a cub up in a burning tree with burned feet, but was saved by Game Wardens and became the famous mascot for 'The United States Forest Service,' with the words, "Only YOU can prevent wildfires (forestfires). He is buried in Capitan, here in Lincoln County, at the Smokey Bear Museum. Ok, history class is over. Sorry. CL |
