a learning experience, thanx for feedback :) !

i know that these new-fangled cpu's with turbo-boost(?) or whatever, knock-out some of the multi-threading capabilities in exchange for nearly doubling the stock speed on a single physical core.

since this is new out-of-the-box, i have to remember all the silly tweats that are necessary, i.e., not to shut off / go into sleep mode, after 10 mins of inactivity. learned that one the hard way with previous lappy...

just glad that it was able to get 8 Rosie's going (and now, another 8 in queue!) without me pulling out too many (gray) hairs, lol !

thanx again !

as to be expected from a lappy (merely 1.73 GHz) with hyperthreading, wu's are getting less than 50% of credit claimed. but, hopefully with hyperthreading, its getting twice the output...

the kattenstoet "cat festival" is celebrated in ypres, belgium, with a cat-themed parade, but it was orininally celebrated centuries ago by throwing unwanted cats from a belfry....

I bought this one pre-season and have NOT needed it yet!!
http://www.amazon.com/Snow-Joe-622U1-19-Inch-Electric/dp/B000VL2N2Q

It is electric but hey I live in an area that may not need it for several years yet!! Maintenance on an electric is MUCH easier than a gas powered one!!

Are you migrating or looking for the perfect mate?

When in Iceland there is always the Ice Hotel
http://www.discover-the-world.co.uk/en/holidays/sweden/icehotel-and-iceland/

There are now apparently TWO of them!

already have the perfect mate, a turtle, lol !!!

nah, no ice hotel in iceland, sadly...

but gotta make it to one of the ice hotels in sweden one of these days...

Ice Hotel, Iceland and the Northern Lights

There is no Ice Hotel, Iceland, and although there have been rumours of a complex being built these were mostly based on the possibility of a none-ice extension to Reykjavik's National Concert Centre. The ICEHOTEL in Swedish Lapland is a wonderful alternative to a stay in Iceland as are the Kakslauttanen igloo village in Finland and the snow hotel in Norway.

The reasoning against building an Ice Hotel, Iceland is that although there are sections of the island which remain covered in snow all year round these are in inaccessible areas. Two thirds of Iceland's population live in the capital Reykjavik and most of the country's tourist attractions are on the south western coast. During the winter months, when a snow hotel would be built, this area is significantly warmer than the rest of the country because of the movement of the Gulf Stream. Igloo building in these conditions is unreliable if not impossible.
